Our 4-point plan for sustainable online retail
1. repair instead of throwing away
We believe that defective items should not simply be thrown away. The majority of all damaged products can usually be repaired with little effort, as often only small individual parts no longer work. We live this philosophy at our location in Münster. Therefore we have integrated a workshop in our warehouse where defective lights can be repaired. This means that our customers can send in their lights for repair free of charge within the warranty period - and we also offer our repair service after the warranty period has expired for a small charge. In this way, we reduce waste, conserve resources and also create jobs.
2. offset transportation emissions
While our shipping partners DPD & GLS already enable climate-neutral transportation to the end customer, we ensure that the transportation of our goods from production to the warehouse is handled in a CO2-neutral manner or that the emissions generated are subsequently offset by supporting climate projects.
3. reduce packaging material
To reduce packaging material and waste, we are constantly optimizing our product packaging in order to pack all lights more compactly. This not only saves packaging material, but also increases the number of items that can be moved between production and storage facilities in a single transport. This enables us to reduce the number of transports and cut emissions.
4. sustainable returns
In contrast to other large online retailers, we do not simply dispose of returns without checking them. Thanks to our modern warehouse & returns portal, we have been able to develop processes in which we check & process every incoming return. This enables us to use raw materials more sustainably and reduce waste.
